Cookie Policy

Racenda uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries. Most are strictly necessary to sign you in and remember your preferences; analytics and advertising storage runs only with your consent and is described below. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser; "local storage" is similar browser storage that stays on your device and is not sent with every request. We use both, as described below.

These are required for the Service to work and do not need consent:

• racenda_auth_token — keeps you signed in (HttpOnly session credential);
• racenda_refresh_token — renews your session securely (HttpOnly);
• racenda_session — a non-sensitive hint that you are signed in;
• racenda_app_auth — a short-lived (15-minute) cookie that completes a sign-in hand-off to the mobile app;
• NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your chosen language.

We keep a small number of entries in your browser’s local storage. None of them track you across sites:

• racenda_cmp_consent — your consent choice, so we can honour it;
• racenda_ad_free_until — when you earn a temporary ad-free pass, when it expires;
• interface preferences — your light / dark theme, dismissed notices, and your recent searches (kept only on your device);
• frequency counters — how often ads and prompts have appeared, so we can cap them.

With your consent we use PostHog, a privacy-focused, EU-hosted analytics tool, to understand how Racenda is used. Once you consent, it stores a small identifier in cookies / local storage so repeat visits count as one visitor. It stays off until you consent, respects your browser’s Do-Not-Track setting, and is never sent personal details.

We do not use cross-site tracking cookies and we do not build advertising profiles from your browsing on Racenda.

The free tier is ad-supported. When advertising goes live, Google (AdSense on web, AdMob in the app) may set advertising cookies or identifiers — but only after you consent through our consent banner. Advertising is currently in test mode and no real ad or advertising cookie is served yet. If you do not consent, personalised advertising cookies are not set.

For non-essential (advertising) cookies we ask for consent through a consent-management platform built to the IAB TCF v2.3 standard (Funding Choices on web, Google UMP in the app). You can accept or decline, and change your mind at any time from the "Manage ad consent" control in Settings, which re-opens the banner.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you signing in or break parts of the Service.

We will update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and revise the "last updated" date above.
